Krav Maga Global has a long established club on Wellington offering Krav Maga Courses. The New Zealand Self-Defence Academy (NZSDA) opened its doors to the public in March 2011.
We are passionate about teaching people how to defend themselves and their family and believe everyone should have the confidence and skills to do that. In addition to private clients, we work with many security, law enforcement and corporate ones.

Andre Maritz has over 40 years of experience in different martial arts. He has a black belt (Shodan) in Karate, and did years of boxing while serving in the National Defence Force of South Africa. After practicing kick-boxing as well, he trained professionally in Muay Thai for 14 years.
After surviving a violent carjacking, he realised that what is works in the ring will not necessarily save you on the street. He looked for a system that is effective, easy and enjoyable to learn, and builds confidence and fitness... and found Krav Maga.
Andre is a great believer in building students not just in confidence but also providing them the opportunity to grow in Krav Maga so that they can help others including to complete the Krav Maga Global instructor programme.
